DOADOA is a joint initiative of a number of leading creative entrepreneurs in East Africa – Bayimba Foundation (Uganda), Sarakasi Trust (Kenya), Phat! Entertainment (Kenya), Ketebul Music (Kenya), Busara Promotions (Tanzania), Caravan Records (Tanzania), KigaliUp! (Rwanda), Selam Music (Ethiopia) – that have joined forces to develop the market for performing arts in East Africa and unlock the potential of the East African creative industry by providing an annual platform for professional networking and mutual learning, bringing together various stakeholders in the creative industry to link people, organizations, businesses, knowledge and technology.
DOADOA offers stakeholders within the performing Arts sector (e.g. musicians, music producers, composers, songwriters, music promoters, managers, distributors, events managers, festival directors, dancers, dance programmers, dance producers, tour operators, theatre makers / practitioners, venue owners, copyright law societies, legislators, cultural organizations, performing arts schools/academies, Comedians, journalists & media houses, poets, storytellers, marching artists and others the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience, to network and learn. There will be conferences, exhibitions, collaborations, practical workshops by experts both regional and international as well as informal networking sessions (speed networking sessions), mentorship opportunities and showcases by selected Artists.
