In 1994, when he met Habib Koité, he decided to change and create a new department on his structure CONTRE-JOUR to handle management, production, record releases specialized in African World Music.

At this date, Contre-Jour has developed the careers of a dozen artists (Habib Koité, Tambours de Brazza, Dobet Gnahoré, Gangbé Brass Band) and produced, released 33 albums under his label. Contre-Jour has always privileged the close ties between stage performances and record production.  As part of its activities, the agency handled the organization of tours and the record production.
