Joel Mills has worked in the music sector for over 18 years. She started out working in production for dance club Whirl -Y-Gig, The Big Chill Festival, Stoke Newington Festival, and East London venue The Spitz. She became Programming and Venue Manager at the Spitz, and following 4 years there, worked freelance for several years, combining a mixture of event, project & artist management and consultancy. Promoter clients included SJM Concerts, Mean Fiddler, Eat Your Own Ears and Festival Republic, and she worked on a diverse range of shows from mainstream pop to jazz and folk.
As Senior Music Adviser at the British Council, she is develops international music projects, connecting UK artists, arts and music organisations practitioners with overseas counterparts.
