Aida is the director of a new multidisciplinary arts space Maisha Garden, founded by filmmaker Mira Nair, located in Buziga, Kampala. She is also a multidisciplinary performance artist with a dual PhD in Drama and Humanities from Stanford University. Having represented Uganda in Ethiopia at the first Sundance Theater East Africa Director’s Lab in 2012, once again, Aida represented the country at the Sundance Theater lab in Utah in 2013. Aida co-wrote and starred in a short film Missing with Ugandan American actor Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine. She was a 2014 fellow for the International Society of Performing Arts and is a contributing arts journalist for Mail and Guardian Africa.
