7TH DOADOA – EAST AFRICAN PERFORMING ARTS MARKET

DOADOA is the East African Performing Arts Market – a professional networking platform for both regional and international industry stakeholders in the performing Arts business.
This year, entrance to all DOADOA activities shall be free of charge. All performing and non performing Artists, performing Arts practitioners and the general public is invited to attend, interact and learn from experienced professionals in the performing Arts sector(s).
DOADOA 2018 conference topics: The 2018 topics have been selected to give value to those attending by providing a platform to dealing with the changing demands of Arts and culture in the region. The four-day conference programme shall cover topics related to new projects in Arts and culture, Managers and record labels, the State of Dance in Uganda, a case study from Zimbabwe on documenting the drum cultures and Guitar Styles and innovations in mobile digital interaction platforms in Arts and culture.

DOADOA 2018 speakers and moderators: The 7 major conference topics and 2 workshops shall have over 34 speakers and 7 moderators coming from over 12 countries – (Uganda, Kenya, Norway, United Kingdom, Tanzania, South Africa, Australia, Netherlands, Rwanda, Germany, Malawi and Zimbabwe). Each Speaker brings personal experience to each topic of discussion giving practical insights into the needs of stakeholders in Arts and culture.
DOADOA 2018 Venue: The 7th DOADOA – East African Performing Arts Market will have an Opening Reception, Conferences, Workshops, Exhibitions, Live recording studio sessions and Showcases starting on Wednesday 9th May to Saturday 12th May, all hosted at the Uganda Museum.
The venue for the official DOADOA After party with Artists and DJ showcases shall be announced at a later date.
DOADOA 2018 Speed Networking: Each day (from May 10th – 12th) shall end with a One-on-One Speed Network session, where participants open up to discuss relevant issues in relation to their careers and entrepreneurial practices and efforts as Artists with various Delegates.
THE SEVENTH EDITION OF DOADOA IS PRESENTED BY BAYIMBA CULTURAL FOUNDATION IN PARTHESHIP WITH DOEN FOUNDATION, AFRICALIA, MIMETA AND UGANDA MUSEUM.
