Ruyonga (UG)

Ruyonga is a Ugandan Hip hop performing artist, writer, poet, public speaker and graphic designer who uses his art to e n t e r t a i n and foster awareness in communities, schools and churches. Formerly known as Krukid, he was one of the youth who pioneered Hip-Hop in Uganda in the nineties. Ruyonga has shared stages and worked with Maurice Kirya, Proverb, Eldee, The Clipse, The Wu Tang Clan, The Roots, Wiz Khalifa, K’Naan and Manifest among others. He has won multiple awards and competitions including Chicago’s Pass The Mic Competition and Champaign Illinois Music Awards’ Best Hip-hop Artist three years in a row. He was selected by Rawkus Records as one of the 50 most prominent hip hop artists on the Internet in 2007 and they released his second album AFRiCAN. Since returning to Uganda and giving his life to Christ at the end of 2011, Ruyonga he has released two successful albums “Victory Music” and “Glory Fire” with release shows having thousands in attendance. He was on Channel O’s 2013 list of Ten African Emcees in a League of their own.
